Tapestry Tuesday #12 - Rain and Wave Thread SageArts

Hello all, Ohms here!
Another Tuesday means another Tapestry Tuesday, and that means another day to continue presenting the SageArt Forms!

Today we’re focusing on two more forms on the long list, that being the Rain and Wave Forms. Additionally, both of these forms represent the final Output type of Channeled abilities.

For SageArt type Thread abilities, Channeled indicates that the wielder of the ability performs a brief animation where they remain vulnerable before releasing the ability. This period of vulnerability generally increases the potency of the resulting ability as well, making them more high risk-high reward.

An example of a Rain Form Thread Ability

Rain form abilities create a series of projectiles that fly either within a contained area or over a large segment of the screen and deal heavy damage to enemies they collide with. Unlike Swarms, where the initial damage is divided among the projectiles, each projectile in the swarm does the intended damage, making them devastating but generally inaccurate methods of dealing damage without some form of setup.

Wave form abilities represent beam attacks and extremely long projectiles which hit enemies multiple times as they pass through them. Wave forms are limited as they always are generated from the playable character’s location, but the damage they deal tends to be significant, especially if it catches the enemy off-guard.

These two ability types represent only a few of the many potential Forms I have yet to demonstrate. I look forward to sharing more examples with you all in the future! Tune in next Tapestry Tuesday for more examples!
