Tapestry Tuesday #18 - Flow and Blindside Threads

Hello all, its Ohms again bringing you another Tapestry Tuesday!

As we come close to the end of the series on the various Thread forms and abilities, we start getting into more and more complex abilities, allowing for great versatility and usefulness in combat. The following Thread Forms, Flows and Blindsides, are no exception to this.

Flow and Blindside Thread skills are skills that are specifically designed to combine well with other abilities through enemy suppression or heavy damage. Rather than fire-and-forget, they are instead used strategically against enemies to ramp up damage, status effects, or to land heavy blows on approaching opponents.

Flow Thread skills, as shown above, are born of the philosophy ‘death by a thousand cuts’. They are swarms of generally minute projectiles that individually deal low amounts of damage flowing along a predetermined path. They do, however, provide a strong deterrent to enemies, as they tend to provide continuous disruptive pressure as well as massively increased status effects in the process of dealing their damage.

By creating these Flows, players provide flexible zones of increased pressure that can be combined with other abilities to seriously debilitate the opposition.

Blindside Thread skills, as shown here, are unique in that they attack from an unexpected direction, the ‘Z‘ direction. as such, their area of effectiveness is much more narrow in scope, resulting in a powerful but difficult to land attack that takes a bit of time to set up. This delay allows for the attack to work well with disruptive abilities, maximizing the resulting damage and generally doing heavy damage to enemies on guard.

We’re coming to the final days of the SageArt series, and things only get more exciting (and complex) from here! I look forward to sharing more with you all in the future!
